Charmaine Troy, Ph.D., is an innovative educator committed to advancing access, equity, and success for first-generation college students. A proud three-time first-generation graduate herself, she has led the creation and implementation of comprehensive support programs for first-generation students at Georgia Gwinnett College, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech. Dr. Troy is the co-editor of Developing and Implementing Promising Practices and Programs for First-Generation Students, as well as Graduate Education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): A Student Perspective. She is also the co-author of the book chapter Mentoring Experiences of Graduate Students in HBCU Professional Programs.
